This purpose-built Moon filter allows you to easily decrease the image brightness for more comfortable, relaxing, and revealing Moon-gazing.

This filter system comprises two polarizing filters mounted in a special cell with finger adjustable slide control for varying the light transmission from 5% to 25%. Just how much you may want to dim the brightness will depend on the phase of the Moon, on your telescope’s aperture, and on the magnification you're using.

This accessory is made of machined and anodized aluminum and fits in any 1.25" focuser or diagonal; it accepts 1.25" eyepiece barrels. Unlike most variable polarizing filters, which you must thread onto the barrel of each eyepiece you use, the Series 4000 polarizer lets you swap out eyepieces quickly and get the polarizing effect with each one, since the filter does not thread onto the eyepiece itself.
