A "King Sized" surprise!

"One year ago I got, by chance, a new camera. The MEADE T Deep Sky ImagerT. I was hooked in two imaging nights and this DSI was soon seconded by the DSI-Pro. At this moment I was certain that I had finally gotten the ultimate cameras, which would undoubtedly not ever be equalized.

So, when MEADE asked me whether I wanted to test a new Deep Sky Imager? I said, "Yes indeed, I wanted!" But I was really wondering what could be better than the others? I did not imagine what could have been improved in the DSI, but the MEADE team did it! They "did not equalize" the DSI. They hugely improved it!

Thus, when I received this famous "new camera" I was very intrigued. The box did not have anything very new except this name: "Deep Sky Imager II". Inside, a DSI like the others, but not exactly, it is blue. The nose piece once removed, the surprise is ... King Size! A CCD chip, large as... as... 1/2"!! It is large when you are accustomed to the 1/3" of the original camera.

I was not at the end of my surprises; a new software, with many improvements like a zoom to contribute to focusing, improved color control, and a temperature sensor display. Then I started to understand that things had really changed... In fact, if the "traditional" DSI were a pleasure, The DSI-II is true happiness!!

Better colors, a surprisingly effective dark frame management system. The zoom to focus with accuracy and this field of view! Wow!!

I have widened my point of view on the universe with this new camera!"
