Discovered by Charles Messier in July of 1764, the
planetary nebula M-27 lies at a distance of 900 light years
in the constellation of Vulpecula. This is a tri-color
image using the Pictor 1616XT with the 16" LX200
at f/6.3. Exposure data; 5 minutes in red, 20 minutes in
green, and 20 minutes in blue. The green and blue
exposures should be the same in planetaries to
properly capture the "forbidden radiation" of the
doubly ionized oxygen light (oxygen III).
